Ok there is a LOT of moving going on right now
1. Physically - I am moving - from Florida to Virginia . my "other" job demands it , and so do I , a little bit Anti-Florida, this has not been the most hospitable state, and I'm looking forward to seasons and real trees. Body concious has definitions here,( I was rejected as a volunteer for an animal rescue organiations public appearances because i was not "fit" enough) But there is so much widespread issues other than health it no longer befuddles me why there are so many "bad" shows filmed in the miami dade and broward counties
( Cops/animal rescue/ south beach tow)
2. Moving forward. The change of place also means a quantitative change in my job duties which means i will be returning to live one on one coaching and fitness classes... Watch out Virginia this fat girl has been doing a lot of "latin/hip hop Zumbe esque dancing"
3. Moving on , other chapters in my life have come to an end , and I am looking forward to the changes , that are trending on the horizon.
oh . in a little bit I will be posting some progress pictures.

I am often surprised when people as me for before and after pictures. I am not done losing weight , and will not be I suspect for another year ..
so so far there is no "after" I am still a work in progress
I know those photos are very inspiring, and unless they are dated have no logical proof of what can happen
Weight loss is a non linear journey , its ongoing and it really never ends.. you have to focus on staying in shape and toned and fit , otherwise you risk becoming your before picture again.

Not losing Fast Enough
I am frustrated and sad...
Do you know why ??? Do you ? really ?!!! I had a friend tell me she is quitting
Because she is not losing fast enough...
In her mind, she has lost 12 lbs in 3 months, and that is not FAST ENOUGH btw thats a POUND a week..
and would equal 52 lbs this year..
So she is going to a family member to get a weight loss wrap and she bought some green coffee bean pills , and she doesnt like to work out etc etc...
Please keep in mind this is also a woman who could not commit to 30 minutes of exercise daily
she also is not tracking calories or intake - accurately.
Truth is - she is doomed to fail at this point, because she wants what we all want -
Quick results - minimum effort.
30 lbs in 30 days , etc etc , all the attention grabbing headlines in the magazine racks at the grocery store..

What they really really don't want, inspite of all they say, they do not want to lose you as a customer.

Everytime a diet fails you and you try a new one , some guy is sitting in his office in a shady dark basementat the bottom of a 50 story multiplex office rubbing his grimy hands together coughing out ciggarette smoke and saying , hmmm "What can we sell them today" dang we got all this ummm.. coffee bean extract that no one wants ... hmmm.. yeah lets do that ...
Everytime I hear this from someone I feel like i am seeing another person get swallowed in by the Tar Pit that is this industry and all the false claims and misleading information and silly food restrictive diets ..
Do not buy into it .
Simple .
Weight loss is HARD -
Doing nothing is EASY
Remember when grandpa said nothing good is easy?

We battle with our weight every day, we battle with our inner natural genetic code, it tells us we "need" this weight. because you know - famine- zombie apocolypse and all that.
I know - I am right there with you in the trenches , Fighting my own battle of the bulge.
Yeah thats right , I am a Weight loss and Exercise coach who is (ominious music) FAT!
ive lost 50 lbs this past year, i still have more to go . I have educated myself and am here to hold your hand as you navigate the same mine fields I navigate every single day.
Fitting in
Fitting in , So much of life is a struggle to fit in , from early school years and needing to find friends, so we are not alone, to middle and high school where we have to create an identity so that we have friends and people we fit in with
Creating labels as we go so that somewhere we "fit in" Jocks, Brains, Hippies,Goths,Geeks
Looking for that elusive weight loss, or exercise pill so we can regain our health we look to "fit in" a new smaller size size 4-6 seems to be the most common goal I hear from most women- they just want to be a single digit size.
For some of us that size may be one that we have never "really" fit in as adults, and it seems like an impossible dream , there is so much hype and blather out in the public about what we need to do to lose 5 lb this month , or 30lbs in 30 days on the cover of every other magazine in the checkout Aisle.
Television shows that every few days seem to hype some new magic pill, ( yeah Dr Oz I'm looking at you...)
Here in the USA we are the FATTEST nation in the world ..
lets let that sink in ..

we struggle with diet and exercise, and somethings occur to me
Based on my TV package
I have 3 separate television channels devoted to food, Food Network the Cooking Channel and Travel Channel (which is about 70% food programming)
and ZERO devoted to exercise.
We are obsessed with models, movie and tv stars and looking thin , and being thin,yet we do nothing or little about it ,
Sticking to or Quitting a diet, more people understand quitting than do sticking with an exercise and eating plan , food is abundant - it surrounds us every day,
we have to consciously exercise resistance to the abundance around us.
Its much easier to stay thin in life if you have never been overweight..
let that lesson sink in for a while especially if you are a parent...
We will talk more soon.

Here--- Fetch the stick!!
ok , fetch the stick , this conjure up pictures in your head of tossing a random chunk of wood around for your four legged friend.
What it should conjure up is that diet food, or pre shredded cheese.
Cellulose is a fairly common food additive, it helps thicken products and add dietary fiber to them ( fiber being indigestible by humans)
it also helps bulk them up , and because its plant based it binds with water , to give a creamy texture to drinks and processed foods,
common foods with cellulose added include:
Bottled chocolate milk shakes
pre bottled nutritional shakes
Yogurt-low fat
Low fat sour cream

the amounts needed to make a complete multiple vitamin are so miniscule and concentrated that to make a tablet that people feel is actually delivering all that is promised it to bind it together with cellulose.
Now cellulose by itself is perfectly normal its in your celery and broccoli and lima beans
it binds most vegetation together so that it can grow , the concern is to obtain the cellulose from the sources that manufactures are using , wood pulp and cotton pulp its refined , with a lot of chemicals , and processses thats a concern , a major concern
Why do my freinds/family tear me down
theres a few quick and dirty reasons why your friends and family many have a hard time supporting positive change in your life
ESPECIALLY weight loss/ exercise
1. the mirror effect- if you do good and suceed , and they see success in you it means that they have to change , if they want to imporve..- no one likes dressing room mirrors
2. the earthquake effect, when you shake things up in your life, they fear those same shake ups in thier life too, dont say that wont happen, its inevitable.
3.the comfy sweats effect... see staying the same as you are , and not improving , is ultimately a challenge to them, the way you are is comfortable, like warm comfy old sweats or worn in jeans, change is hard , and its scary..
4. GUILT- if they have issues and you have issues its all cool cuz we all have issues together, like a band of compatriots, BUT if you deal with those issues, in this case WEIGHT/HEALTH then 1and 2 will sock them in the face regulalry,
and as family they cant get rid of you, they can ignore you tear you down and make you feel bad so that you have no contact with them , but ultimately they are still family,
friends grow up ,apart, and move on , its lifes evolution, with few exceptions , in 20 years you will most likely not have the same people around you, but that doesnt mean that they will be happy about it
